Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in fast-paced healthcare environments and possess excellent clinical judgment. As a Nurse Practitioner in our urgent care setting, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with acute medical conditions or injuries. Perform physical exams and obtain medical histories. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory tests. Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute conditions, including but not limited to, respiratory infections, minor injuries, and skin conditions. Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate, adhering to evidence-based practice guidelines. Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive care measures. Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Perform minor procedures, such as wound suturing and splinting, as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and empathy in interactions with patients and their families. Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and standards of care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in an urgent care, emergency department, or primary care setting preferred. BLS and ACLS certification. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
