Responsibilities Conduct detailed patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to inform accurate diagnoses. Manage a wide range of clinical procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile processing techniques while adhering to aseptic techniques. Administer medications and injections, including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers, ensuring proper documentation and patient safety. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (CPT, ICD-9/10). Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, and medical imaging to support clinical decision-making. Provide specialized care in areas such as critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, or hospice & palliative medicine based on experience. Participate in telehealth consultations and coordinate with case management teams for discharge planning and post-acute care. Engage in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects to advance evidence-based practices within the organization. Skills Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and treatment planning. Experience with complex procedures such as spinal taps, cardiac catheterization assistance, or ventilator management is highly desirable. Skilled in triage protocols, acute pain management strategies, infection control practices, and emergency response procedures. Ability to perform advanced clinical skills including suturing, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, and specimen collection/processing. Familiarity with CPT coding standards and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for billing accuracy and compliance. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with diverse populations including children, seniors in memory or assisted living care settings, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and occupational health protocols is advantageous for specialized roles.
