Nursery Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and gardening, with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the nursery environment. This role involves various tasks related to plant care, maintenance, and cultivation in both nursery and greenhouse settings. Responsibilities Assist in planting, watering, pruning, and fertilizing a wide variety of plants Skills and Qualities Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions Strong attention to detail Plant identification Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Good customer service skills Basic understanding of plant care and propagation techniques Prepare soil mixtures, pot seedlings, and transplant cuttings Maintain cleanliness and organization of nursery areas Handle packaging and dispatch of plants for sale or transport Monitor plant health, identifying signs of pests, disease, or stress Operate basic machinery and tools, such as wheelbarrows, hoses, sprinklers, and tractors Support inventory management and record-keeping tasks Experience Previous plant-related experience not required but preferred; a willingness to learn is essential. Hardworking Familiarity with plant identification and basic horticultural practices. Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions is necessary.
