Job Description

Nutritionist Stewart, MN 55385
Position Objective:
The Nutritionist will support the efforts of a species groups, each specializing in their field of animal expertise. Each of these individuals are dedicated to sourcing new clients and business opportunities. You will work in cooperation with the sales and marketing team, increasing our opportunities to expand the company's feed business, gain market share, and assist in the servicing of existing customers. In this role, you will grow supporting the company in its innovation initiatives, new product development, nutritional expertise and the duties as outlined below. In reporting to the Director of Nutrition, you will assist the team in supporting the field sales team to develop new customers, the production team in nutritional ingredient analysis and decisions making, and servicing of existing customers. In this role you should be prepared to work in a fast paced, team centered environment, that will challenge you and allow you to use your experience and expertise to develop the company and enhance your continued growth within the animal feed and nutrition industry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Development of product and premix formulation for assigned species Provide nutritional expertise, offer advice, and formulate nutritional rations for production goals Provide technical support for the sales team and the overall customer base. Analyze ingredient quality and nutrient variations Support the ration balancer system and ensure formulations comply with regulatory standards Provide trouble-shooting support to field sales and nutritionists, communicating timely and effectively. Support manufacturing in the formulation and development of the feed manufacturing process. Assist with product documentation, nutrient guarantees and labeling compliance Assist sales and office personnel in formulation updates and changes Participation in all species meetings, product development processes and field trials Effective presentation skills to provide technical training and nutritional expertise. Effectively communicate nutritional research, innovations and ration formulations with field sales personnel Ability to collaborate ideas and share species expertise within the team. Additional projects required or directed by team vice president, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in Animal Science (Nutrition) and/or production 3 years' applicable industry formulation experience Communication skills in group, phone, and one-on-one settings Technical and computer skills, with an understanding of rations and formulations Multi-year experience in animal nutrition Successful track record of problem solving and finding practical animal health solutions Outstanding analytical skills and a strong customer service mindset Analysis of risk, risk management in the animal feed industry Self-motivated with excellent communication skills in a team setting and one-on-one meetings Technical and computer related skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and demonstrated skills in ration formulation helpful

Ability to understand business critical information and negotiate purchasing and pricing opportunities Ability to stay strong under pressure, evaluating large amounts of data Ability to think rationally and portray sound judgment
