Job Description
Position Summary:
JetBlue is looking for an Analyst Airline Optimization- Operability to be based at JetBlue's Support Center in Long Island City, NY. The Airline Optimization
- Operability team is responsible for understanding and quantifying the effects of the Network on the Operation, and vice versa. The Airline Optimization
- Operability team will then support planning decisions across the company to maximize the airline's end-to-end profitability and operational robustness.
- Operability will have excellent quantitative and interpersonal skills, helping them to excel at working across teams to measure and balance planning requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Evaluate network and operational plans to identify latent inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements that enhance schedule reliability, operational efficiency, and resource utilization
- Collaborate closely with Crew Services, Schedule Planning, and Route Planning teams to develop and evaluate pairing scenarios, assess the revenue and operational impact of proposed decisions, and implement schedule or pairing adjustments as necessary
- Use planning scenarios to measure the cost impact of schedule changes
- Use tools to forecast operability outcomes and disruption risk
- Build relationships with Operational teams to help align short
- and long-term planning decisions
- Manage metrics and reporting, including regularly updating decision support dashboards
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- One (1) year of analytical or related experience achieved either via school or work experience
- One (1) year of aviation experience achieved either via school or work experience, with a strong preference for roles involving crew planning, crew analytics, and airline operations
- Strong capabilities with database querying (e.g., SQL) and/or high-level programming language(s) (such as Python or R)
- One (1) year of experience in developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau, demonstrating strong proficiency in leveraging Tableau's advanced features and functionalities to support data-driven decision-making
- Strong airline business acumen
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication ability
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Knowledge and/or experience in traditional machine learning and modeling
- Experience with financial modelling or project management
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.
