Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager Rippling

  • $213,000 a year 1 hour ago Qualifications Objection handling (sales technique) Automation Workflow management (operations management method) Writing skills Competitive analysis Content editing Product positioning Pattern recognition Content development Intelligence analysis Senior level SaaS AI Communication skills Full Job Description About Rippling Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance.
It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds. Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world's top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes. We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses. About the role Rippling is looking for someone who can track what competitors are building and messaging, form a view on what it means for us, and turn those insights into material that actually helps our sales team win. As Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager, you'll own HR competitive intelligence at Rippling. That means keeping a close pulse on what competitors are doing—product moves, pricing, messaging—and translating that into sharp battlecards, tight talk tracks, and strategic recommendations that inform how we position and sell. This role goes beyond maintenance. We want someone who has genuine curiosity about the market, forms opinions about where things are heading, and can connect competitive dynamics to how Rippling should position itself. You'll work closely with Sales—understanding how deals are won and lost in the field—and partner with Product Marketing to sharpen our messaging in response. Competitive programs have traditionally been slow to keep up because so much of the work is manual—monitoring competitors, refreshing battlecards, fielding one-off sales questions. AI can now handle a lot of that. We want someone who will actively use it to build a faster, more scalable program: automating how we track what competitors are doing, keeping battlecards and talk tracks current, and getting answers to the field more quickly—and spending the time saved on forming a point of view on the market and shaping how Rippling responds. This role is based in our SF or NYC office. What you will do Own HR competitive intelligence: Be the authority on how competitors are building, pricing, and messaging. Know the landscape well enough to have a point of view on where things are heading and what it means for Rippling—and bring that to Product Marketing, Sales, and leadership proactively.
Build a best-in-class enablement suite:
Create the core competitive toolkit—battlecards, objection-handling guides, talk tracks, and comparison content.
High bar for quality:
material needs to be clear, concise, and something reps will actually use in a live deal.
Run win/loss analysis:
Own the win/loss motion from methodology to synthesis to action. Surface patterns—not just data—and bring conclusions to Product Marketing, Sales, and leadership. Partner with
Sales:
Be the person reps call when they're in a competitive deal. Answer questions fast, understand how deals are won and lost, and build the kind of trust that comes from being consistently useful.
Build an AI-native program:
The repetitive parts of competitive intelligence—monitoring, keeping battlecards and talk tracks fresh, answering rep questions—can largely be automated. You'll build the workflows that do that, so the program stays current and you can focus on the work that requires judgment: synthesizing what's happening competitively and making recommendations on how we respond. What you will need 5+ years in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or a closely related role in B2B SaaS Strong writing and communication—you produce material that's clear, concise, and easy to act on; you know how to edit out the noise Analytical instincts—you can synthesize information into a point of view, not just a summary Proven experience working closely with sales teams and making competitive intelligence useful in the field Genuine curiosity about the market and how competitors build and position Hands-on with AI tools and comfortable building with them—you've automated workflows and processes, not just used chatbot Additional Information Rippling is an equal opportunity employer.
