Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus. The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an OMT (Observer, Mentor, Trainer) Officer. This position is responsible to the Senior OMT officer for the Corps of Cadets and Assistant Commandant of Cadets for all matters pertaining to the quality of life for a 1000 member Corps. Provides coaching and mentorship to Cadets on leadership, counseling, residential living, discipline, community activities, overall welfare, and academic preparation. Regular work hours 0800-1730; weekends as required. This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and holds the responsibility of serving as a mandatory reporter for all Clery Act crimes. If you have any questions regarding the visa policy, please contact Monica Arrendale at (706) 867-4470. Serves as an OMT on all matters pertaining to Corps of Cadets quality of life. Teach cadet leaders how to counsel subordinates properly, provide instruction on the art and science of military leadership, and provide mentorship on the role of a senior non-commissioned officer. Responsible for the upkeep and repair of housing facilities, ensuring that all maintenance issues are addressed promptly. Assist with the day-to-day management of residential areas, provide support to cadets, and help enforce housing policies. Responsible for the management and input of all Cadet housing related functions in the Star Residence housing system and for general coordination between the Corps and Housing and Residence Life. Responsible for physical security (key control) and the maintenance of Commandant staff service vehicles. Helps coordinates logistical support for all Corps-related events throughout the year, including Frog Week (2), NLC (2), Boar's Head Weekend, Gold Rush, and Alumni Weekend. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of working with college students in a military/academic atmosphere. Knowledge of PC platforms; knowledge of
MICROSOFT
Office, Excel, Power Point and other programs a must. Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to multi-task, conduct formal and informal investigations, and maintain order and discipline-knowledge of working with college students in a military/academic program atmosphere. Bachelor's degree required. Graduate of a U.S. Military Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Course. Prior service E7-E9, leading platoon or larger elements. Twenty plus years retired military preferred. Experience in logistics management and human resources is a plus for this position.
