JOB DESCRIPTION
Occupational Therapist - SY 2026-27
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Missouri Occupational Therapist License through the Missouri Board of Healing Arts. Experience working in school-based settings preferred. Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and related service requirements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
School in session days plus one day; compensation per salary schedule. Board paid benefits.

Director of Special Programs
POSITION SUMMARY
The Occupational Therapist assesses gross motor, fine motor, and sensory processing skills for children and/or adolescents and provides appropriate treatment/interventions to improve upon deficit areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide a comprehensive and professional assessment of each child's strengths and weaknesses as they relate to occupational therapy issues. To develop appropriate IEP therapy goals to access the general education curriculum in order to assist the students in reaching realistic goals for treatment. To provide sensory activities as required by student's needs for optimal learning. To provide education and updates to school staff and/or parents/guardians. To write and update IEP or therapy goals and keep progress notes. To maintain contact with other professionals to ensure coordinated treatment efforts. To submit Medicaid billing in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Missouri DESE regulations, and district policies. Travel between district buildings as assigned. Will not be assigned extra duties but willing to help when available
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift, position, and assist students as needed. Ability to perform physical activities associated with occupational therapy services.
