Job Description
Job description Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, providing high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation care to individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. In this role, you will evaluate patients with a wide range of physical, neurological, and functional impairments and develop individualized treatment plans designed to help them regain mobility, independence, and quality of life. Working within a specialized rehabilitation hospital, you will apply advanced therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices to support patients in improving strength, coordination, cognition, and performance in activities of daily living. As an Occupational Therapist at Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital, you will collaborate closely with a compassionate interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care throughout the recovery process. You will conduct thorough assessments, set functional and measurable goals, implement therapeutic interventions, and regularly re-evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Daily responsibilities include ADL training, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, cognitive and perceptual retraining, and the selection and training of adaptive equipment and assistive devices to enhance safety and independence at home and in the community. You will document all evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient progress using an electronic medical record system, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant records. Patient and family education is a core component of this role; you will provide instruction on home exercise programs, energy conservation, joint protection, compensatory strategies, and safe use of equipment to support successful discharge and long-term outcomes. You will participate in care conferences and discharge planning, offering clinical input on functional status, anticipated progress, and ongoing therapy needs. Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital offers a collaborative and supportive culture grounded in empathy, professionalism, and respect. You will work in an environment where patient-centered care is paramount and where teamwork drives positive outcomes. The hospital emphasizes continuous learning and professional growth, offering opportunities to advance your skills in specialized rehabilitation techniques, participate in in-service education, and contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and detail-oriented clinician with strong clinical reasoning skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to helping patients achieve meaningful functional goals. Experience in an inpatient rehab, acute care, or outpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred, and new graduates with solid clinical rotations in rehabilitation are encouraged to apply. This position offers the opportunity to build a rewarding career in rehabilitation, working with a diverse caseload while making a tangible difference in the lives of patients and their families every day.
