Experience:
Prefer a Minimum of 3 years of experience providing occupational therapy services (but not required) Prefer a minimum of 1 year of experience providing occupational therapy services to children in school settingsEducation:
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.Knowledge/skills required:
Demonstrated knowledge of various school-based Occupational Therapy assessments Demonstrated desire and success in working with students and families from educationally underserved areas. Ability to work independently in school settings Ability to travel within the SF Bay Area with own transportation (mileage reimbursed between schools). The position will be based out of Stockton, but the therapist may be expected to travel 1-2 times per month to other cities within the Bay Area.Knowledge/skills helpful:
Bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese) is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with SEIS, PowerSchool, and Medi-Cal billing and data systems is helpful Essential Functions and Responsibilities This OT position will be the sole provider of in-person OT services across 5 KIPP schools in Stockton, CA. The OT must demonstrate the ability to screen, evaluate, score, and write reports, perform both direct and consultative services, track and bill services through online programs, participate in IEP team meetings, and be a supportive participant in all School and SPED teams. The OT must align with and abide by KIPP Schools NorCal's missions and standards. This OT will be part of a larger OT-APE team and should be willing to support team members as needed.Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands Physical:
Ability to navigate office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally, much of the day involves moving. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-30 lbs. Physical agility to move oneself in various positions to execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping, and reaching overheadMental:
Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, make professional decisions, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize, and recall objects and people.Environmental:
School environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Frequent school environment movement, 75% of the time, and travel as needed, less than 10% of the time. KIPP adheres to health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies' recommendations. Classification This is a full-time, exempt position based on a school calendar. Occupational Therapists are paid a 10.5-month salary across 12 months of pay periods. The start date is July 1, and the end date is June 30. Position is considered an Regional position, but the OT will have a home-based school out of one of the KIPP Stockton Schools. Must possess a valid California driver's license and have access to reliable transportation for work-related travel. The salary range for this position uses a step scale based on years of experience. The usual starting range is between $99,000 and $117,000, depending upon experience.
