Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a real difference for students in the classroom setting as a dedicated Occupational Therapist for the 2026-27 school year. This is a full-time, contract opportunity supporting schools near Smyrna, GA, including the Douglasville area approximately 20 miles west of Atlanta. Immerse yourself in a collaborative environment, working alongside educators, students, and families to foster student success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Active Georgia OT licensure (or eligibility to obtain) Prior experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly valued Familiarity with IEP processes, developmental milestones, and sensory integration techniques Strong communication skills, both oral and written Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess students' abilities to participate in classroom and school activities, identifying barriers to learning Provide direct and consultative OT services in compliance with IEP requirements and best practices Develop treatment plans and interventions tailored to students' unique needs Document and communicate student progress to staff and families Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and external providers to create supportive learning environments Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations Make a positive impact on student growth and development in a vibrant school community.
