Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a contract Occupational Therapist during the 2026-2027 school year. This assignment, based near the vibrant Kansas City metro area, provides the unique opportunity to foster growth and independence in young learners across five elementary campuses from August 2026 through May 2027. Bring your expertise in school-based occupational therapy to a diverse district environment that values student development and therapist collaboration. As the district finalizes the specific caseload, you'll have the flexibility to utilize your skills across various school settings while making a significant impact on children's academic achievements and life skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Active Occupational Therapist license in Kansas (or eligible for Kansas licensure) Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to a range of student abilities and needs Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere
Daily Responsibilities:
Serve a caseload spanning five elementary campuses (detailed caseload information forthcoming) Assess students, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams Why Consider This Role?
