Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students throughout the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, working with diverse learners and collaborating closely with educators and families. Situated near Independence, Kansas, you'll enjoy a professional environment focused on advancing each student's independence, development, and academic outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current OT licensure or eligibility for licensure in Kansas Background in school-based, home health, or pediatric settings preferred Familiarity with IEP creation, implementation, and documentation Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families Innovative, compassionate, and adaptable approach to therapy delivery Strong organizational skills and comfort managing a dynamic caseloadKey Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to determine students' occupational therapy needs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with educational teams Deliver direct therapy services in accordance with IEP goals and school guidelines Document student progress, maintain up-to-date records, and contribute to IEP meetings Consult with teachers, parents, and staff to recommend classroom modifications and strategies Support students' success in both school and home environments, as appropriate Stay current on best practices and professional standards in occupational therapy If you are passionate about driving positive change and feel energized by helping students overcome challenges, this role is your chance to shine.
