Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a lasting impact in a school-based environment by bringing your passion and expertise as an Occupational Therapist to a contract opportunity in eastern New Mexico. This rewarding position provides ongoing support to students across school sites, focusing on direct services, assessments, and collaborative intervention planning. As an integral itinerant OT team member, your ability to engage with diverse student needs and work closely with educators truly matters.
Key Qualifications:
Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in New Mexico (required) Previous experience in school settings, with proficiency in assessments and IEP-driven interventions Comfort traveling between multiple school sites for itinerant assignments Strong written and verbal communication skills for developing reports and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams Commitment to providing on-site services; remote/VOCO options not available Exceptional time management and flexibility to adapt within dynamic environments
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group OT interventions to support student success in academic and functional skills Complete comprehensive evaluations and contribute to IEP documentation Travel between designated school locations as an itinerant therapist Maintain accurate, timely records and clear report writing Educate staff and families on strategies to promote student well-being and participation Engage actively with the educational team to ensure holistic approaches to student care
