Job Description
Alcott School is seeking and Occupational Therapist/Coordinator to join our dedicated team. In this role you will provide essential therapeutic services to support the development of preschool children with special needs, ensuring they achieve their fullest potential in a nurturing educational setting. You will provide guidance, support and supervision to our OTRs and COTAs. We are specifically looking for someone who can embrace and implement Sensory Integration and Floortime methodologies. This position is for a 10 month school year program plus a 6 week summer program. This position requires the ability to lift, carry, balance, walk, run, climb stairs, move quickly on play areas indoors and outdoors, monitor children's safety, effectively communicate , work independently and collaboratively, respectfully share space with other professionals, conduct assessments to evaluate children's developmental needs and create individualized treatment plans, complete and review required paperwork to ensure that the services are properly delivered, documented and meet deadlines, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, provide guidance and support to families regarding strategies for enhancing their child's development at home, conduct workshops for parents and staff throughout the year, and comply with the Office of Children and Family Services regulations and Alcott School's policies and procedures for safety, cleanliness, confidentiality, attendance, punctuality, dress code and professional conduct. Requirements Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapst Experience working with children, particularly in early intervention or pediatric settings preferred Strong knowledge of child development principles Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families and team members Strong ability to work as a team member and be flexible Salary commensurate with education and experience
