To Be Determined Job Description The Monticello Occupational Education Center has a position open as an The Monticello Occupational Education Center has a position open as an Automotive Service Technology instructor for the 2025-26 school year. Experienced professionals may be issued a CTE provisional permit. The minimum requirements include a minimum of an Associate's Degree with three years of relevant work experience in the specialty area to be taught or four years of relevant work experience in the specialty area to be taught. Minimum education requirements/work experience shall be met prior to employment in the teaching specialty, verification of high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. All candidates must pass the required background checks. Job description: The instructor will be responsible for teaching high school students four areas of automotive service technology. The instructor will teach how to diagnose and repair drum and disc brake systems. Also repairing the entire hydraulic brake system, which will include the master cylinder, lines, proportioning valves and stop light operation. Repair power assist units, wheel bearings and races, as well as clean, repack and adjust wheel bearing preload. Students will also learn theory, operation, and diagnosis of vehicle ignition and emission control systems, including catalytic converters, and computer-controlled ignition systems. Students will diagnose and repair electrical/electronic systems. And lastly, students will learn to design, operate, and repair vehicle steering and suspension systems. This will include two and four-wheel alignment on conventional and McPherson strut suspension systems, tire balance and service.
