Job Description
About Us We are a busy, patient-focused optometry practice looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Billing Coordinator to join our small team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow — we're looking for someone with the drive and potential to take on an Assistant Office Manager role over time. In this vital role, you will coordinate billing activities, ensure precise coding, and facilitate seamless communication between our front desk and outsourced billing company. As our Billing Coordinator, you'll assist with our billing operations, ensuring claims are submitted accurately and payments are collected efficiently. You'll also provide general office support and gradually take on broader administrative responsibilities as you grow with us. Responsibilities ∙ Handle billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies ∙ Assist with accounts receivable and collections ∙ Support front office and administrative tasks as needed ∙ Help identify and improve billing workflows over time ∙ Verify patient information, insurance details, and medical records to facilitate correct claim submission. ∙ Collaborate with healthcare provider to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies promptly. ∙ Following up on outstanding accounts and ensuring timely payments.
What We're Looking For:
∙ 1-2+ years of billing experience (optometry or medical preferred). ∙ Strong knowledge of optometry or medical terminology. ∙ Familiarity with vision insurance plans (EyeMed, Davis Vision, etc.) a plus ∙ Familiarity with EHR/EMR for clinical documentation and billing purposes ∙ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills ∙ Comfortable working independently in a small office environment ∙ Friendly, professional, and a team player ∙ Interest in growing into an office management role — a big plus!Pay:
