Click here to learn more about Tehama County! The Tehama County Counsel is seeking an organized, innovative and focused Office Manager II. This position, under general direction, provides complex and confidential office administrative and secretarial support to the department, related management and administration staff. They will coordinate the business functions of the department including fiscal processing and report preparation, as well as, coordinate special projects as assigned and perform related work as required. Performs accounting and financial office support work, including assistance with budget preparation, implementation, and monitoring, grant administration, and preparation of various financial reports. Performs personnel related functions within the department, including preparing and/or maintaining personnel records, training, evaluations, recruitment assistance, new hires, workers' compensation, and various reports as required. Conducts a variety of analytical studies, research, and statistical analyses on administrative problems or issues regarding departmental and programmatic activities evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and assists with the implementation of procedural, administrative and/or operational changes after approval. May serve as a liaison for the department with other County departments, divisions, and outside agencies, attends meetings as necessary, provides staff support to commissions, committees, and task forces. Click here to view the complete job description. Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12 th ) grade and supplemental training or coursework in secretarial skills, business administration, or computer applications related to the work. An Associates Degree is highly desirable. Two (2) years of administrative support work involving the supervision of others. Other combinations of education & experience may be considered.
License & Special Requirements :
A valid California Class C driver's license or alternative form of transportation may be required for some positions at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. May require DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance. The department is currently recruiting for an anticipated vacancy occurring June 2026. In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for an Office Manager II, as well as subsequent vacancies, which occur during the life of the eligibility list.
