Office Manager — Casa de Oro Eyecare Spring Valley, CA | Full-Time | On-Site We're not just an eye doctor's office. Casa de Oro Eyecare is a independently owned, community-rooted optometry practice in Spring Valley — the kind of place where patients actually know their doctor's name, where the optical experience feels personal, and where the team is genuinely invested in the people walking through the door. We're growing. We brought on an associate OD, we're building out our systems, and we need an office manager who can grow with us — someone who can run the day-to-day with confidence and still think big-picture when it counts. What This Role Actually Is This isn't a receptionist role with a fancier title. You'll own the operational heartbeat of the practice — from front desk workflows to insurance reconciliation to staff culture. You'll be the person the team looks to when something goes sideways and the person the doctor relies on to keep things moving forward.

Your core responsibilities:

Lead and develop the front office team — scheduling, coaching, accountability, and culture Own the patient experience from first contact to final checkout: scheduling, insurance verification, co-pay collection, and recall follow-through Manage insurance billing workflows (VSP, EyeMed, MediCal, etc.), payment posting, and end-of-day reconciliation Keep the practice running on time — coordinating schedules, managing no-shows, and flagging bottlenecks before they become problems Handle vendor relationships, supply ordering, and basic facility oversight Track key practice metrics (capture rate, AR aging, recall conversion) and bring ideas to improve them Work closely with the practice owner on operational projects, staff performance, and growth initiatives Who We're Looking For You are not a "just tell me what to do" person. You notice things, take initiative, and bring solutions — not just problems. You'll thrive here if you: Have 2+ years of experience managing or leading in a healthcare or optometry office setting (not required but a huge plus) Understand how vision insurance works (VSP, EyeMed, or similar) — or are highly motivated to learn fast Are genuinely warm with patients and direct with staff Can context-switch between a billing issue, a frustrated patient, and an HR conversation without losing your footing Take ownership seriously — if something's broken, you fix it; if it's your fault, you say so Know your way around EHR and practice management software (Eyefinity/RevolutionEHR experience is a plus, not required) What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Health benefits Optical benefit (because of course) A team that actually likes each other Direct access to the practice owner — this is a place where your ideas get heard Room to grow as the practice grows The Reality of This Role Spring Valley is our community.
