TITLE:
OFFICE TECHNICIAN I
DEPARTMENT:

QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card within forty-five (45) days of employment. Two years of clerical experience is preferred. Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
JOB GOALS
The Office Technician I performs a variety of clerical type work in a designated area within the school or department.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The following tasks are essential for this position. This list is not inclusive of all responsibilities. Individuals may not perform all of these tasks, or may perform similar related tasks not listed. Complies with all HIPAA and FERPA related confidentiality requirements. Develops positive relations with students, parents, school staff and the public. Performs a variety of clerical type work related to school/department business. Types materials such as letters, memorandums, reports, bulletins, and requisitions. Maintains a system of files, reports and records, both physical and computer. Assists the Office Technician II in the maintenance of student and other specialized records. Operates office machines. Places and receives phone calls. Maintains a schedule of appointments. Collaborates in the arrangement of after hours use of school facilities. Orders and maintains supplies as needed. Models a strong focus on a customer service oriented culture in assisting PUSD staff and community members. Assists and collaborates with the Office Technician II in the execution of all duties as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Knowledge of:
District policies, operations and organization. Interpersonal skills including tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. Communication (telephone, email, etc.) etiquette. Office equipment, procedures, practices and equipment, including computers and related software. Modern office equipment including personal computer and related software. Office systems and procedures. English language, spelling and grammar. Skill and Ability to: Work cooperatively with others. Establish work priorities to meet schedules and timelines. Maintain files, records and reports. Operate modern office equipment including personal computers and related software. Maintain a calendar of appointments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires the mobility to stand, stoop, reach and bend. Performs lifting, pushing and/or pulling which does not exceed 50 pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job. Is subject to inside environmental conditions. May be required to work at a video display terminal for prolonged periods.

EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Director or Superintendent in accordance with the provisions of Governing Board policy for evaluation of classified personnel.

Salary for the position is set according to the Classified Salary Schedule determined by the Governing Board. 2026/2027 Classified Salary Schedule
