Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Demonstrated experience delivering O&M instruction to students in a school environment Competency in adapting O&M strategies for individualized student needs Strong communication and consultation skills for effective coordination with teachers and staff

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver 30-minute weekly sessions of direct O&M instruction to one student for the upcoming school year (NSY) Assess and address the student's individual mobility goals, ensuring ongoing progress and safety Work alongside the student's current Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to maintain consistency in strategies and support Maintain concise documentation of instructional activities, student performance, and progress Collaborate with educational staff to provide guidance on environmental modifications and promote accessibility within the school setting This position offers the opportunity to focus on quality, individualized service, allowing for a flexible commitment ideal for specialized professionals seeking a rewarding contract role.
