Job description OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center McAlester Medical Oncologist Community Oncology The OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center seeks a Medical Oncologist for a community-based faculty position at its McAlester location, serving southeastern Oklahoma through a growing regional oncology program. This role offers the opportunity to build a strong community oncology presence while remaining connected to Oklahoma s only National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Center. Academic rank is commensurate with experience, with potential faculty tracks including Clinician, Clinician-Educator, and Clinician-Scientist. Assistant Professors and Associate Professors in clinical pathways participate in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows in Hematology and Oncology when applicable. In addition, they may participate in undergraduate medical education, precept learners in clinical environments, and contribute to multidisciplinary academic discussions across the cancer center network.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide comprehensive outpatient oncology care for adult patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies in a community oncology setting Develop individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive oncology care Collaborate with radiation oncology, infusion services, advanced practice providers, oncology-certified nurses, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary specialists Participate in tumor boards and maintain alignment with evidence-based cancer care pathways across the Stephenson Cancer Center system Support access to advanced therapies and clinical trial pathways when appropriate through connection with the main academic campus Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and growth of oncology services in southeasternOklahoma Required Qualifications:
MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology Eligible for medical licensure and DEA registration in the State of Oklahoma Strong knowledge of cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, and longitudinal oncology care Academic credentials commensurate with rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor Opportunities atOU Health Stephenson Cancer Center McAlester:
