JOB SUMMARY
The Operating Room Aide supports the surgical team by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment in the operating room. This role supports and assists operative teams with the daily flow of activities of the operating room (OR) and patient care by cleaning/disinfecting the operating room suites and related areas, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.SCHEDULE
PRN - Monday thru Friday 6:30am-5pmESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare operating rooms prior to surgery by ensuring proper set up of equipment, supplies, instruments, and opening sterile supplies Work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgeon to assist with patient positioning, surgical preps, patient transfers Perform room turnover between cases including cleaning and disinfecting according to infection control standards Assist with positioning equipment and non-sterile set up Manage, transport, and dispose of medical waste, linens, and specimens per policy Stock and restock supplies in the Ors, sub-sterile rooms, and storage areas Assist with moving equipment (e.g. beds, surgical tables) Support staff with errands and tasks to maintain workflow efficiency Follow all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines (e.g. OSHA, Joint Commission) Transport patients, trays, specimens, and equipment Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate daily operations.EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent requiredEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
CPR/Basic Life Support Previous healthcare or environmental services required Basic knowledge of infection control practices preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong attention to detail Physical ability to lift, push, and stand for extended periods of timeBENEFITS INCLUDE
