Job Description
Operations ManagerKnapp s is a high-volume neighborhood restaurant and lounge focused on delivering strong hospitality, consistent food quality, and smooth service execution in a fast-paced environment.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced restaurants, can lead calmly under pressure, and understands that successful service depends on pacing, communication, and operational control across both front and back of house.
Position OverviewThis is a hands-on leadership role that moves between the dining room, host stand, expo line, and kitchen to maintain smooth service and strong communication during all phases of operation.
This role will also support operational readiness during non-peak periods by helping prepare the restaurant for busy shifts, organizing systems, monitoring inventory needs, and improving day-to-day execution standards.
Core ResponsibilitiesPeak Service & Throughput ManagementLead operational flow during lunch, dinner, and weekend peak periodsManage seating pace, waitlists, and table flow based on kitchen capacityCoordinate between FOH and BOH to regulate ticket flow and prevent kitchen overloadStep into expo when needed to support ticket sequencing, communication, and kitchen pacingMaintain calm, organized communication under pressureShift Leadership & Team CoordinationLead FOH operations during assigned shiftsSupport servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen communicationReinforce operational standards, urgency, and professionalismCoach team members on pacing, communication, and service executionHelp identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities for improvementMaintain a strong team environment built around accountability and consistencyOperational Readiness & Weekly PreparationHelp prepare the restaurant for upcoming peak periods and weekend businessMonitor inventory levels and communicate operational needs proactivelyEnsure stations, prep areas, and service areas are organized and ready for serviceSupport cleanliness, food safety, and operational standards across the restaurantGuest Experience & Service RecoveryHelp maintain strong guest experience standards during busy periodsAddress guest concerns professionally and calmlySupport table touches and service recovery when neededHelp maintain smooth service even during high-volume periodsExperience That Works WellMany successful candidates come from environments such as:
