Operations Manager SB Specialty Metals is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations leader to oversee our Warehouse and Operations Productions in Vandalia, Ohio. This individual will play a key leadership role in maintaining a productive, organized, safe, and high-performing operation. Key Responsibilities Lead daily warehouse and production operations Supervise, train, coach, and develop warehouse employees Build a strong, accountable, team-oriented culture Manage recruiting, staffing, employee performance, and disciplinary actions Coordinate workflow and daily production schedules Drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous operational improvement Monitor warehouse KPIs and operational performance metrics Ensure compliance with safety standards and federal, state, and local regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment Oversee maintenance programs for warehouse and material handling equipment Assist with budgeting, operational expenditures, and future capital improvement planning Partner with vendors, contractors, customers, and leadership teams to support operational goals Qualifications Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within a steel service center or industrial warehouse environment Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational setting Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Computer proficiency required Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively High School Diploma required; additional education or training preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: A hands-on leader who leads by example Safety-focused and operationally driven Passionate about building strong teams and developing employees Organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented Motivated to improve processes and create operational success If you are looking for a long-term opportunity where you can make an impact, lead a team, and help shape the future of the operation, we encourage you to apply.
