General Manager Position Summary The Productions Manager oversees all production, manufacturing, and operational activities for a Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in high volume metal stamping and light assembly. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across stamping operations, weld cells, and assembly lines. A strong background in automotive metal stamping is preferred, with demonstrated leadership in a fast paced, highly automated environment. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Lead day-to‑day operations across metal stamping, press operations, spot welding, robotic MIG welding, and laser welding. Ensure production goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) are consistently met. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce downtime. Stamping & Press Operations Oversee setup, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic stamping presses. Optimize die changeovers, press schedules, and OEE performance. Collaborate closely with tool & die, maintenance, and engineering teams to support uptime and tooling integrity. Quality & Compliance Ensure all parts meet customer specifications, dimensional requirements, and automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001). Champion root cause analysis and corrective action processes (5‑Why, Fishbone, 8D). Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Production Management Develop and manage production schedules in alignment with customer demand and shipping timelines. Monitor KPIs and implement countermeasures for performance gaps. Coordinate with materials, logistics, and supply chain to ensure uninterrupted workflow. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, team leads, and hourly workforce. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and problem-solving. Support staffing plans, performance reviews, and training programs. Continuous Improvement Implement Lean Manufacturing and automotive best practices (Kaizen, 5S, SMED, Standard Work). Drive automation initiatives to improve quality and reduce labor costs. Analyze production data to identify waste, inefficiencies, and cost reduction ‑reduction opportunities. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Partner with the maintenance department to ensure PM programs are executed. Support troubleshooting efforts for stamping presses, weld cells, robotics, and assembly equipment. Recommend capital investments to improve safety, capacity, and efficiency. Qualifications Required 5+ years of operations or production management Strong technical expertise in metal stamping, tooling, die setup, and press operations. Demonstrated leadership experience in high volume‑ automotive manufacturing. Experience with welding processes (spot welding, robotic MIG, laser) and automated assembly operations. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, OEE, and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, organizational, and decision making‑making skills. Preferred Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field. Strong background in automotive stamping Experience with
IATF 16949
quality systems. Robotic welding programming or troubleshooting experience (Fanuc, ABB, etc.). Proven success managing cross ‑functional teams. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
