Job Description

The Supervisor is responsible for assuring that all tasks are properly and safely performed as related to loading and off-loading liquid chemicals, blending processes, toting and drumming. The Supervisor will also assist in directing and training Chemical Operators, Leads, and Maintenance, and will be a member of the Site Leadership team. The ideal candidate must have experience being a leader in the chemical or liquid industry. Duties and responsibilities Responsible for coaching & directing warehouse employees to meet daily schedules Perform all work in strict accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety Policies as well as plant policies, procedures and checklists Ensure adherence to product specifications throughout the blending process Able to climb rail cars & tank stairs, operate valves, pumps & gauge tanks Maintain training in Safety and Hazmat requirements; Houston Area Safety Counsel and/or other safety and regulatory classes/schools Perform or assist in the performance of preventative and regular maintenance duties Assist operations with product transfer alignments including piping, pumps and associated valves Initiate and/or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve plant goals Address employee relation issues promptly & effectively and issue corrective actions as needed Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the plant and/or staff Maintain & ensure accuracy of plant order records Communicate with other departments to coordinate activities for smooth production Manage other specific assignments, projects, and/or responsibilities as assigned by Plant Manager Ensure warehouse employees conduct continuous training and improvements Coach, counsel, discipline, and train all employees Ensure continuous training occurs Qualifications Must be Safety and Hazmat Certified (Houston Area Safety Counsel) within 90 days of hire date Previous Chemical, Refining, or Terminal Experience Previous leadership experience a must Must have a valid driver's license Must have effective written & verbal communication skills Must be able to take direction, work effectively & cooperatively with others - team player Must be able to understand and complete orders Basic math skills required Proficient with
Microsoft Office:
Excel, Word, Outlook Must be able to pass respirator fit test; Houston Area Safety Counsel or other approved fit test facility Working conditions Work is indoors and outdoors in warehouse environment Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions: heat, rain, cold and wind Must be able to work in elevated work areas Must be able to work with wrenches and other tools Physical requirements Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds. Ability to climb ladders Ability to climb under rail cars Requires turning and tightening nuts & bolts and similar activities Able to handle working with chemicals, acids and petroleum products and be around vapors with respiratory protection

From $30.00 per hour
