can help us shape the future of dairy. From your PASSION to ours Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is hiring a Packaging Operator I in Nampa, ID. Requirements The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring finished products meet quality standards and that product identification and labeling are accurate. This role supports the operational flow of packaging machinery, monitors product quality throughout the process, and ensures Lactalis standards are maintained at all times. From yourEXPERTISE
to ours Key responsibilities for this position include:- Meet efficiency targets while maintaining high product quality.
- Operate shredder equipment to process cheese safely and efficiently.
- Monitor the shredding process to maintain proper speed, flow, and quality standards.
- Follow all SOPs for reworking/recooking cheese and ensure compliance with food-safety regulations.
- Report equipment malfunctions or process issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities reworked/recooked and any quality concerns.
- Work collaboratively with team members to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Take immediate corrective action when product does not meet quality or specification requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to operational performance goals. From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Education
- High School Diploma or completion of GED preferred by not required. Experience
- Previous experience in a food-industry or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of food-safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand for the full shift with repetitive bending, twisting, gripping, lifting, and reaching. Specialized Knowledge
- Basic understanding of food-safety and GMP practices (handwashing, hairnets, hygiene, contamination prevention).
- Ability to follow written procedures (SOPs) and production instructions.
- Familiarity with working around simple production equipment (shredders, conveyors, basic controls).
- Awareness of quality indicators for cheese (appearance, texture, moisture consistency).
- Basic knowledge of safe work practices, including proper lifting and general equipment-safety awareness.
Skills / Abilities
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, use appropriate PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
