Job Description

Bay Eye Clinic - North Bend, OR Bay Eye Clinic is seeking an efficient, hard-working, and friendly Ophthalmic Assistant to join our fast-paced medical team. Our busy practice is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, and we are looking for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and truly cares about patient well-being. About the Position As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of data-collection functions as delegated by our physicians to ensure accurate professional diagnoses. You will play a vital role in patient flow, clinical documentation, and maintaining a high standard of medical care.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & History:
Obtain comprehensive patient histories, including chief complaints, medical/ocular history, and current medications.
Diagnostic Testing:
Perform visual acuity, manual lensometry, confrontational visual fields, and applanation tonometry.
Advanced Imaging:
Conduct optic nerve scanning (OCT), corneal topography, and pachymetry.
Clinic Flow:
Manage patient triage, escorting patients between rooms, and ensuring a smooth transition to the physician.
Documentation:
Act as a scribe, documenting exam findings accurately in the patient record.
Maintenance:
Assist with instrument sterilization, troubleshooting equipment, and keeping exam rooms clean and stocked. Required Qualifications High school diploma (some college preferred). Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant is welcomed but not required. We provide training on the job.

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
