Opioid Prevention Coordinator Salary $38,317.13 - $47,852.84 Annually Location Show Low, AZ Job Type Full Time Job Number 2026-00208 Department Health District Opening Date 05/07/2026 Closing Date Continuous Description Benefits Questions Summary Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in developing and providing public health education, conducting outreach, and connecting community members to services; performs related work as assigned. This is a grant funded position, and dependent upon the availability of grant funds. Conducts outreach to individuals, families, schools, and community organizations to promote healthy behaviors and program participation. Delivers evidenced-based and culturally appropriate education sessions on topics such as adolescent health, substance use, naloxone, tobacco use prevention and cessation, chronic disease prevention, and emergency preparedness. Assists in planning, coordinating, and evaluating program activities and educational events. Provides support, and referrals to healthcare and social service providers as appropriate. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with schools, healthcare providers, community partners, and other stakeholders. Maintains accurate records of outreach, education sessions, and client interactions; prepares required reports. Identifies barriers to care and advocates for improved access to health and wellness services. Participates in required trainings to maintain current knowledge of public health best practices and community resources. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with staff, community partners, and the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of county health standards and programs, applicable laws, statutes and public health agencies. methodology. Knowledge of grants administration and program management. Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision. Skill in delivering public health programs and information through classroom settings or large events. Skill in maintaining accurate and timely documentation and records. Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public. Skill in planning, organizing and directing the work of others. Desirable Qualifications High School diploma or G.E.D.; AND three years' experience working in a health field with one year of general office experience; AND a valid driver's license. Part Time employees working less than 30 hours a week and temporary employees do not receive benefits)
