Full-time Full-time Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Technicians to join our friendly and dynamic team at Crockett Eye Clinic - Vision Source in Crockett, Texas. As an Optometric Technician, you will be responsible for providing support to our optometrists by performing a variety of clinical tasks, ensuring our patients receive exceptional care in a comfortable and professional environment. Key Responsibilities:

Pre-exam Testing & Patient Care:

Perform pre-testing procedures such as visual acuity tests, auto-refraction, tonometry, and pupil dilation. Record and maintain accurate patient medical histories, symptoms, and other important information. Assist patients in preparing for exams and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit.

Instrument Maintenance & Calibration:

Operate and maintain diagnostic instruments such as OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), retinal cameras, and visual field analyzers. Ensure proper calibration and cleaning of equipment after each use.

Ophthalmic Measurements:

Perform retinal imaging, corneal topography, and other necessary eye measurements for diagnostic purposes. Assist with refraction and contact lens fittings/teach as needed.

Patient Education:

Educate patients about prescribed treatments, procedures, and eye care products. Provide information on contact lens care, frame adjustments, and vision therapy.

Administrative Support:

Schedule patient appointments, understand and verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient check-in and check-out. Assist in maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Collaboration:

Work closely with our full-time and part-time optometrists, as well as other members of the support team, to provide optimal patient care. Communicate effectively with patients regarding any follow-up care or test results.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous experience as an optometric or medical technician is a bonus but not required. Training will be provided for motivated candidates with no prior experience.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or certification in optometry or healthcare-related field is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and handle a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with diverse patient populations. Ability to learn and use new technology quickly. Certifications (A bonus but not required): ABO (American Board of Optometry) certification or COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) certification is a plus.
