Optometric Technician / Receptionist

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optometric Technician/Receptionist to support both front-desk and clinical operations in a busy eye care practice. Front Desk / Reception Duties Greet patients and create a welcoming first impression Answer phones, schedule appointments, check patients in and out Verify vision insurance eligibility and benefits Collect copays and payments; process invoices Maintain patient records (EHR systems) Handle referrals, authorizations, and follow-up calls/reminders Manage paperwork, forms, and scanning documents Process insurance claims and billing Ensure HIPAA compliance Support office workflow and assist team members as needed Clinical / Technician Duties Perform pre-testing (visual acuity, autorefraction, tonometry, retinal imaging as trained) Record patient medical and ocular history Educate patients on contact lens care and usage Train patients on inserting and removing contact lenses Maintain cleanliness and calibration of exam equipment

Qualifications:

Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and comfort with EHR systems Prior optometry or medical office experience preferred (training provided)

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
