Job Description

We are looking to add a new member to our oral surgery team. We are looking for someone with experience in surgical assisting that is excited to work hard, expand knowledge of surgical assisting and grow with our team! Should be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified and incentives will be offered for achievement of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification (DAANCE). Responsibilities Coordinates patient treatment; enters recommended treatment into the practice management software Sets up treatment rooms for surgeries Documents patient communication in their charts Encourages patient referrals Collects and records patient health histories. Assist with a number of oral and facial surgery procedures Panoramic and 3D x-rays Delivers pre and post-operative instructions Answers patient questions and concerns regarding recommended treatment Places IVs and applies sedation monitoring equipment (pulse oximeter, blood pressure cuff, ECG leads) Monitors vital signs and input of medications for documentation of sedation Stocks the treatment room with the necessary supplies needed Sterilize and package instruments for surgery Serves as the intermediary between patients, the doctor, other assistants and the front desk team. Answers questions and updates the team about changes in the schedule. Ensures the office, treatment rooms and sterilization are clean and neat and reflects a professional environment. Orders supplies and equipment; restocks supplies as needed Other duties as assigned Skills Work experience as a medical, dental or surgery assistant Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task Caring and compassionate Team player with good communication skills Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
