POSITION SUMMARY

The Orchestra Instructor will provide an effective instrumental music education to students; duties include all aspects of the band organization, auditions, programming, and rehearsing all music for performances.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate for this position will:

• Communicate with the student body and encourage participation in the orchestra activities;
• Plan, rehearse and direct musical experiences for the school with some scheduled performances per school year;
• Oversee scheduling and other arrangements for the rehearsals and concerts;
• Order all supplies and materials necessary for band related activities in accordance with established procedures and budget allocations.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• One (1) year teaching experience preferred.
• Certification in Music (P-12) through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission required.
