Job Description
Butler America is seeking a motivated Trainee OSP Engineer to join our growing telecommunications engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in telecom engineering. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in fiber network infrastructure and outside plant engineering. Training and mentorship will be provided to help develop the technical skills necessary to support telecommunications projects. Key Responsibilities Assist with the design and development of outside plant (OSP) fiber and copper network infrastructure. Support field surveys, site walks, and data collection activities. Assist with engineering drawings, permit packages, and project documentation. Learn and support aerial and underground fiber placement methods. Work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and field teams to support project execution. Assist with permit applications and utility coordination efforts. Support record verification and network documentation updates. Learn industry standards, customer requirements, and engineering best practices. Participate in training related to OSP engineering, CAD software, and telecommunications infrastructure. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, GIS, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Previous telecom, utility, construction, GIS, CAD, or field experience is a plus but not required. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, or similar software preferred. Strong willingness to learn and grow within the telecommunications industry. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license preferred.
