Opens a new window. The employer seeks temporary workers to support a one-time project involving the development and implementation of an outdoor learning environment for a preschool facility. Duties include assisting with landscaping, site preparation, garden installation, and organization of outdoor educational spaces. Workers will collaborate with designers, contractors, and teaching staff to implement approved plans, including installation of pathways, gardens, gathering areas, and placement of natural materials. Additional duties include assisting with light hardscape (non-structural), irrigation and drainage support under supervision, and installation of edible and sensory gardens. Workers may also assist in the setup and maintenance of small, enclosed, non-commercial educational animal habitats (e.g., chicken coops), in compliance with school and health regulations. No veterinary or commercial farming duties are performed. Job Requirements Occupation 24 months experience in landscaping/hardscape/garden installation. Demonstrable project evidence of Reggio Emilia-aligned work (photos, references, letters from previous educational employers) Minimum Qualifications & Required Competencies

• Practical experience in landscaping, horticulture, garden installation, irrigation or light site construction.

Required:

Demonstrable knowledge and prior experience applying Reggio Emilia educational concepts to outdoor learning environments (e.g., prior projects or direct work with early childhood centers using Reggio Emilia approaches). — Minimum 12 months of documented experience in educational settings or project portfolios showing Reggio-inspired outdoor learning installations is preferred.

• Ability to read basic plans/croquis and communicate effectively with GC, designers and teaching staff.
• Safe operation of hand and basic power tools; ability to perform physical labor outdoors in variable weather.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, aesthetic sensibility and initiative. Experience / Education / Certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical training in landscaping/horticulture is a plus.
• Minimum 24 months experience in landscaping/hardscape/garden installation.
• Demonstrable project evidence of Reggio Emilia-aligned work (photos, references, letters from previous educational employers). Physical Demands
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting (ability to lift up to [e.g., 50 lb / 23 kg]).
• Work outdoors for extended periods; exposure to weather conditions.
