Outdoor Retail Sales

Bountiful Acres, a trusted family-owned business serving Bucks County for over 65 years, is seeking a dynamic Outdoor Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a key member, you'll play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the overall appearance of our garden center.

Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction and Sales Support:

Greet and assist customers with purchases, providing guidance on plant selection and outdoor merchandise. Ensure a positive shopping experience by helping load purchases into customers' vehicles (requires ability to regularly lift 40-60lbs.) Promote special events, sales, and new products to enhance customer engagement. Foster relationships with customers over time through authenticity and genuine efforts to understand and assist them. Encourage a learning environment, sharing knowledge gained from each interaction to benefit future customer assistance. 2.

Plant Care and Maintenance:

Monitor and maintain plant health, conducting regular checks for water needs and addressing wilts or stressed plants. Collaborate with team members to communicate watering schedules and address outdoor maintenance tasks. Perform yard maintenance activities, including watering, fertilizing, weed control, and organization of plant displays. Keep track of dumped plants, record quantities and SKUs, and report any pest or disease issues to management. 3.

Garden Center Operations and Maintenance:

Participate in the unloading of delivery trucks, ensuring accurate inventory and notifying management of any discrepancies. Stock and merchandise products, maintaining a visually appealing and organized sales area. Assist in the creation of thematic displays and cross-merchandising to inspire customers. Conduct regular sweeps of the garden center, addressing cleanliness and organization. Maintain the sales area, ensuring plants are upright, debris is cleared, and signage is consistent and accurate. Monitor product levels and communicate with buyers regarding low stock.

Requirements:

Industry experience and knowledge of plant materials, outdoor hard lines, and garden center standards. Ability to regularly lift 40-60lbs. Occasionally lift 100lbs+ using a team lift. Familiarity with customer service practices. Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Technical proficiency and computer skills preferred. Strong communication skills.

Pay and Schedule:

Pay:

$20-$25 per hour (weekly), depending on experience. 401K available to qualifying employees. Medical including vision and dental for qualifying employees. Year-round position.
