Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years outside sales experience, preferably in manufactured or industrial products with a proven track record of growth and attainment of sales goals. Over 10 years selling experience is ideal. Bachelor's Degree or comparable is preferred. Prior experience which displays skills of self-motivation and ability to operate autonomously. Strong work ethic to succeed and meet deadlines. Excellent negotiation and decision making skills. Extroverted personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to quickly develop solid relationships with customers. Strong organizational skills, with ability to multi-task, problem solve, prioritize and manage multiple goals and requirements. Experience in lead generation, networking, cold calling, and development of customers from initial cold call contact to closed sale. Ability to successfully identify and overcome current and potential customer obstacles to gain new business. Experience in working with multiple levels of management within customer's organization to accomplish success in sales and customer service goals. Prior experience with tubing, fabricated tubing, metal fabrication, robotic welding or similar manufactured products is ideal. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint) and ability to learn internal software systems Valid driver´s license and acceptable driving record
Job Responsibilities:
Sell and market current tubular product offerings, as well as investigate new applications and opportunities. Research potential new customers, initiate introductory calls and quoting activity, and then successfully secure new business with them. Maintain relationships with large existing customer base and increase sales to these accounts. Operate with the core values of integrity, honesty, and ethics throughout all dealings to best reflect upon yourself and our company. Utilize personal knowledge, industry insight, self-generated networking leads, and other resources to prospect for sales opportunities. Work together with inside sales, engineering, and production departments to meet customer requirements, along with generating quotations for new sales opportunities. Manage current and new opportunities, provide and process customer feedback, identify obstacles and problem solve to acquire new business. Maintain current knowledge of market climate, changes & trends and implement strategies accordingly. Generate reports to management as needed summarizing current and potential sales opportunities, market conditions, and competitive price analysis, along with assisting management in implementing sales strategies in response to this information. Work with engineering, production, and sales departments to continue personal development of product knowledge, analysis skills, and market information, including attendance at seminars, training schools, and educational conferences. Other duties assigned as applicable.
Territory/Location Information:
This position is based in Birmingham, AL and will require travel throughout the United States on a partial basis. Predominant travel will be in Southeast US. #
