Job Description

Overview Located in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California Kennolyn has been in operation since 1946. Our Health Center staff keep us happy and well. Our coordinator team has many years of camp nursing experience is ready to help support you as you join our team. RNs, NPS, MDs and PAs encouraged to apply! Candidates should have a strong desire to work with children and the ability and desire to work in and around an outdoor environment. Currently licensed in California or willingness to obtain. Experiential knowledge base equivalent to one-year acute care nursing. Dates Available for 2026: 6/29-7/11, 7/13-7/25, 7/27-8/8 We are looking for energetic nurses or MDs with pediatric and/or young adult experience who enjoy the pace and functions of resident camp (with ~200 campers from first through 12th grade and their counselors/staff)!! You will be responsible for routine meds, prn meds, outpost meds, first aid/emergencies and psychosocial support. Excellent communication and computer skills (for EMR) and ability to adjust to camp schedule is a must! Basic Qualifications Strong desire to work with children Ability and desire to work in and around an outdoor environment Currently licensed in California as a registered nurse or willing to complete requirements and pay fees to transfer license to California (see http://www.rn.ca.gov/applicants/lic-end.shtml for details) Experiential knowledge base equivalent to one-year acute care nursing Current CPR certification is required. ACLS and/or PALS is preferred Excellent pediatric and adult communication skills Personality traits: integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, flexibility, patience, responsibility, and fun sense of humor Critical thinking skills are a must Duties Deliver high-quality nursing care to campers and staff, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up for minor injuries and illnesses Administer medications to campers daily Maintain accurate medical documentation Communicate with parents and camp directors. Educate campers and staff on health practices, injury prevention, and basic first aid procedures
Pay:
$1,500.00 - $1,800.00 per week
