Full-time Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Colorado State University is looking for an Overnight Clinical Coordinator for our Equine & Livestock hospital. This role will be primarily after hours and weekends. In this role you will be the first point of contact for client's seeking CSU's Equine and Livestock Veterinary In-house and Ambulatory Services after hours. In this role you are responsible for ensuring smooth hospital operations for equine and livestock clients, providing excellent client service, and supporting veterinary teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. We offer differential (7.5
  • 20% of your hourly rate) compensation which could be an additional $4,500-9,000/per year in addition to your salary. + 20 % of your hourly rate for hours worked 4 pm on Friday
  • 6 am on Monday (for example, if your hourly rate was $25/hour, you'd receive an additional $5/hour) + 14 % of your hourly rate for hours worked 11 pm
  • 6 am Monday-Thursday + 7.
5 % of your hourly rate for hours worked 4 pm-11 pm

This work unit exists to provide administration and direction of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and provide a support facility for service to the general public and referring veterinarians. Essential Job Duties:
Serve as the initial point of contact for equine and livestock clients and referring veterinarians during after-hours operations, including greeting arrivals, checking in patients, and responding to inquiries. Triage the urgency of incoming calls or visits, determine whether cases are emergent or routine, and connect clients with the appropriate on‑call house officer, faculty member, or service. Manage all aspects of after-hours scheduling in the EMR, including verifying client and patient information, updating records, routing communications, and ensuring accurate placement on service schedules. Provide client communication and support, including explaining emergency processes, addressing questions, sharing visit updates when medical staff are unavailable, and assisting with financial estimates and consents. Collect required deposits and payments for emergency, elective, or discharge cases, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to established financial protocols. Upload treatment sheets, controlled drug logs, external medical records, imaging, and other documents into the EMR while ensuring complete and accurate patient records. Collaborate with clinicians, technicians, and students to support smooth clinical workflow and maintain positive relationships during fast‑paced, high‑pressure after-hours operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience in customer service, including direct client interaction. High School diploma or GED. Ability to work a full-time schedule onsite, including overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with equine and/or livestock. Prior experience in human or veterinary related field providing client service including direct interaction with clients. Team-oriented and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with clinicians, coworkers, students, volunteers, and clients. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
