Job Description

Why Join Glacial Freeze Dry? At Glacial Freeze Dry, you'll be part of a team that takes pride in producing quality freeze-dried products and doing the work the right way. This role is active, hands-on, and important to making sure products are packaged accurately, handled safely, and shipped properly. If you enjoy staying busy, working with a team, and seeing the results of your work at the end of the day, this could be a great fit. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) with employer match; paid time off; paid holidays, including your birthday; reimbursement for safety shoes and prescription safety glasses; employer-paid life insurance; and employer-paid short-term disability coverage. What You'll Do In this role, you will: Package and label individual products, packs, bulk items, and cases according to company and customer requirements. Verify labels, lot numbers, counts, weights, and product information for accuracy. Assemble boxes, prepare pallets, stage products, and assist with shrink wrapping and outgoing shipments. Prepare shipping documentation, including contents, weights, bills of lading, Certificates of Analysis, and other required documents as needed. Receive incoming packaging-related shipments and inspect them for damage, accuracy, temperature requirements, and overall integrity. Load and unload trucks, complete trailer inspections, verify temperatures, and maintain required shipping and receiving logs. Maintain organized packaging rooms, dry storage areas, and related workspaces using FIFO, stock rotation, and proper product movement practices. Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, discrepancies, or par level needs to the Fulfillment Manager. Clean and sanitize packaging areas, storage areas, equipment, shelves, carts, racking, forklifts, restrooms, breakrooms, and other assigned areas. Follow company policies, safety procedures, sanitation standards, food safety requirements, quality expectations, and personal protective equipment requirements. Assist other Packaging, Production, Shipping, or Receiving team members as needed. What We're Looking For Required qualifications include: Basic math, counting, weighing, and documentation skills. Strong attention to detail when verifying labels, lot numbers, weights, counts, and product information. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Ability to work safely with food products and follow food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety procedures. Reliability, dependability, and willingness to support packaging, shipping, receiving, inventory, cleaning, and other department needs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production, packaging, or warehouse environment.
Preferred qualifications include:
Previous experience in packaging, production, fulfillment, shipping, receiving, warehouse, food manufacturing, or a related environment. Experience using pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, labeling systems, scales, or other packaging and warehouse equipment. Familiarity with FIFO, lot tracking, inventory control, shipping documentation, or food safety practices. Physical and Work Environment Requirements This position requires the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: Standing and walking for extended periods, up to 8 to 10 hours per shift. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping, and handling materials throughout the shift. Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Using proper lifting techniques, requesting assistance when needed, and using available equipment or team lifting for heavier or awkward items. Using hands and fingers to operate packaging equipment, tools, scales, labeling systems, and other work materials. Safely using pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment as needed. Working in production areas, packaging rooms, dry storage, refrigerated areas, loading docks, and warehouse areas within a food manufacturing facility. Reading labels, instructions, scales, and documentation accurately. Communicating effectively in a production, warehouse, and shipping environment. Following required safety, sanitation, food safety, and personal protective equipment requirements.
