Job Description

Job Title:
Packer Job Description The packer loads aluminum extrusions onto processing equipment, assembles and labels bundles according to customer specifications, and prepares finished packages for shipment. This role requires careful visual inspection for defects, accurate use of a tape measure, and consistent adherence to safety and housekeeping standards in a clean, well-lit production facility. Responsibilities Load aluminum extrusions onto the conveyor for processing in a safe and efficient manner. Gather all materials needed to frame bundles, including tape, paper, banding, and related supplies. Perform thorough visual inspections of aluminum extrusions to identify burrs, scratches, dents, and other defects before packing. Assemble bundles according to customer specifications and packing sheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Label packages clearly and accurately and prepare them for shipment in accordance with shipping requirements. Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform regular housekeeping tasks to support a safe workspace. Operate packing and related production equipment as needed while following established procedures. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production goals and quality standards. Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and safe use of equipment such as forklifts where applicable. Work on your feet for the duration of the shift while maintaining productivity and quality. Essential Skills Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. High school diploma or GED required. Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly. Ability to work on feet for the duration of the shift. Experience with packing, general labor, or similar hands-on roles. Forklift experience or ability to learn forklift operation. Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of products and accurate labeling. Ability to work effectively with others in a team setting. Commitment to working safely and efficiently in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment. Comfort using basic production tools and equipment. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, well-lit production facility with approximately 190 employees and plans for further expansion. You will work in a team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency, spending most of the shift on your feet and handling aluminum extrusions and packing materials. The facility provides uniforms and supports proper safety footwear through reimbursement for safety shoes or boots. You will use basic production tools and equipment, including conveyors and potentially forklifts, while following established safety procedures and housekeeping standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leetonia, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
