Full Job Description Location:
Pala, CA Supports Manager/Assistant Manager with managing and coordination of the daily operations of the Mini Mart/ Deli facility. Partner with the Store Manager/Assistant Manager to build high performing Team Members through coaching and development. Interacts with guests and vendors to enhance convenience store/deli experience and to increase sales profitability. Leads the store independently in the absence of upper management. 2 years management and/or supervisory experience. 2 years cash handling experience and able to adapt to any POS Systems. Excellent guest service, communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Basic administrative office functions such as telephone system use, 10 key, fax machine and handheld scanners. Proficient in register transaction processes. Independent, self-motivated, and detailed oriented. Ability to multi-task. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to be flexible with schedule. Able to remain calm, composed and professional under pressure. Ability to assess different situations and determine correct results in a quick and professional manner. Must read, write, and speak English. Ability to obtain and maintain the (RBS) Responsible Beverage Training Certification.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to successfully "open" and "close" the store, ensuring Team Members perform tasks on checklist. Provide high quality guest service at all times. Conduct all cashier functions, and approve all returns, refunds and voids. Maintain appropriate records, receipts and summaries for all orders and deliveries from vendors. Constantly working in a food prep environment; which includes use of the hand-truck, service deli slicer, microwave oven, rotisserie, and washing of food prep equipment. Verify shipments are received and accurately processed through company inventory system. Supervise and maintain accuracy of any price changes including fuel; and implement changes if needed. Train new Team Members in all aspects of the Mini Mart and Deli operations. Support upper management in reaching sales goals. Direct and prioritizes the daily activities and tasks of the Mini Mart Team Members. Anticipate problems and implements measures to preserve the safety of Team Members and all others in the work location. Available 24-hours to respond to problems and/or emergencies. Assist upper management in inventory and cash control procedures, including cash safes, and register audits. Manage all guest complaints and concerns in a prompt professional manner. Notify the upper management of any wrong doings or activities. Provide input to the upper management regarding ideas, goals, objectives, strategies, and other information required for proper operation of the Mini Mart. Provide feedback to upper management of Team Member's performance and productivity. Ability to schedule work hours, days off and PTO based on business needs. Verify and approves Team Members work time for payroll processing. Helps perform periodic competitor surveys including pricing and conditions. Assists meeting with vendors on a "weekly basis" to discuss new items and buy-down promotions, fast sellers, slow sellers, deficiencies and buying trends, etc. Assist with all store reset merchandising, creating schematics if necessary. Guarantee product quality by following the basic procedures of "First in First Out" (FIFO) inventory procedures. Directs to ensure inventory is replenished on the display sales floor including walk in coolers, hot food areas and produce areas. Ensure all "fast food" is maintained at the proper holding temperatures and kept fresh throughout the day. Communicate with upper management for the purpose of discussing policy implementation, changes, new merchandise, etc. Insure all fast food is maintained at the proper holding temperatures and kept fresh throughout the day.
