To Be Determined Job Description Palmyra Middle School is seeking a paraprofessional. Applicants must possess a strong understanding of the instructional needs of students and must work closely with other staff. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties. Assist students with health and physical care as needed including but not limited to feeding, bathroom needs, supporting transportation needs, and personal hygiene. Ability to meet the physical demands of standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and kneeling. If training is completed, the use of therapeutic restraint may be required. Assist in activities assigned by and under the direction of the teacher. Prepare and collect materials needed by the teacher in presenting a unit of work. Work with individual students or small groups on activities that have been assigned by the teacher. Assist students according to their individualized needs as directed by the teacher. Assist in managing the behavior of students. Supervise students during non-instructional times in the day, such as during lunch, arrival and departure times. Complete recordkeeping tasks as assigned by the teacher. Strongly consider candidates with at least 60 hours of undergraduate college hours.
