Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as an Orthopedic Impairment Assistant supporting students in an educational setting. This contract role spans the 2025-2026 school year, offering a dynamic opportunity to work closely with an OI Specialist and help students thrive in their learning environment. The position is full-time, onsite, and requires travel between various locations as part of an itinerant team. Candidates will primarily assist with monitoring students who use walkers, wheelchairs, and other adaptive equipment. The right fit brings strong organizational skills and a genuine dedication to supporting students' unique physical needs in a school setting.
Qualifications:
CPI Certification (required) Experience and/or training with assistive technology and mobility devices (required) CNA or medical background (preferred) Prior experience in California schools (preferred) Strong administrative and organizational abilities Bilingual in Spanish (required)
Key Responsibilities:
Support the OI Specialist with day-to-day monitoring and interaction with students using mobility equipment Assist with training students on the use of adaptive and mobility devices Ensure the safe and proper use of walkers, wheelchairs, and other assistive equipment Maintain clear documentation and communication related to student needs and equipment tracking Travel to different sites as part of an itinerant team, adapting to various school environments This assignment offers the chance to expand your skills in a collaborative, student-focused environment.
