Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on an engaging contract opportunity as an Orthopedic Impairment Assistant, supporting students alongside a dedicated OI Specialist. In this hands-on, onsite role, you'll contribute significantly to the daily lives of students with physical challenges by ensuring their safety, mobility, and engagement on campus. This position, located near Indio, offers a full-time schedule from August 21, 2025, to June 4, 2026, with one available opening.
Desired Background and Skills:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional in school settings, ideally supporting orthopedic impairments California schools experience highly preferred Strong administrative skills, facilitating effective coordination and record-keeping CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification required Proficiency and recent training with assistive technology and mobility devices is essential CNA/Medical training preferred, reflecting comfort in medical or physical support routines Bilingual Spanish fluency required for effective communication with students and families
Key Responsibilities:
Partnering with the OI Specialist to monitor, assist, and transport students using walkers, wheelchairs, and specialized equipment Supporting students' participation in classroom and school activities by ensuring safe and accessible environments Monitoring proper usage of orthopedic and mobility devices and helping with training for both students and staff Adapting support strategies based on student needs and instructions from the specialist Documentation and administrative tasks to track interventions and progress This contract role is ideal for passionate individuals looking to make a measurable difference in the lives of students with orthopedic impairments.
