Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students while working in a dynamic school environment near West Chester, PA! An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Paraprofessional or Behavior Technician (PCA/BT) to support a 7th Grade Center Autistic Support classroom. This assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 4, 2026, with an option to return for the full 2026-2027 academic year (August 25, 2026-June 4, 2027). The position operates Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In this role, you'll play a vital part in the school day, assisting students in 7th and 8th grade who require behavioral and self-care support. Your calming presence and expertise will help create a safe, positive environment and provide day-to-day support for students with diverse behavioral needs, including those who may display aggression.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional, PCA, or Behavior Technician in a school or special education setting Comfortable working with students on the autism spectrum Skilled at managing and de-escalating challenging behaviors, including physical aggression Patient, compassionate, and willing to assist with self-care tasks as needed Ability to take direction and collaborate closely with special education staff
Responsibilities:
Support classroom routines and assist students individually or in small groups Implement behavior intervention strategies alongside classroom teachers and therapists Provide proactive assistance with daily living or hygiene tasks as required Maintain detailed records of student progress and incidents Foster an inclusive, accepting atmosphere that empowers all learners Interviews are being scheduled now and placement can begin right away.
