Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Part-Time Activities Assistant and become a vital contributor to enriching the lives of seniors in our community. This energetic role is dedicated to creating engaging, meaningful activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. As a key member of our care team, you will help foster a lively, supportive environment where residents feel valued, connected, and empowered to enjoy each day to the fullest. Responsibilities Facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and outings. Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as mobility support and personal care as needed during activities. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities that support memory care, dementia care, and aging issues counseling. Foster an inclusive atmosphere by working with individuals with disabilities or special needs to ensure they participate comfortably and safely. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure smooth transitions between events while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous engagement. Maintain accurate records of participation and residents' responses to activities. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote a positive environment focused on social well-being. Requirements Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, or senior care best practices. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse groups of seniors. Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple events seamlessly. Compassionate approach to caregiving with an understanding of aging issues and social work principles. A proactive attitude combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for enhancing residents' quality of life.
