Monday-Friday) University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a Billing Specialist position at a busy surgical practice, Southeastern Surgical Specialists located in Dayton, TN . Position Summary The Billing Specialist is responsible for supporting key functions of the revenue cycle with a strong hands-on focus on medical billing, coding, and claims follow-up. This part-time, flexible position is essential in maximizing reimbursement, reducing denials, and ensuring timely and accurate claims processing. Key Responsibilities Perform medical billing and coding functions to ensure accuracy and compliance Submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely payment Research, work, and resolve claims denials and underpayments Review and correct coding and billing errors to optimize reimbursement Monitor accounts receivable and identify trends impacting collections Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status, denials, and appeals Collaborate with providers and staff to address documentation or coding questions Maintain current knowledge of payer policies, coding guidelines, and billing regulations Recommend process improvements to support efficient revenue cycle operations Perform other billing and revenue cycle-related duties as assigned Why This Role?
