9 Month # of Work Days 145 (4 hrs per day) Position Purpose Under the general Supervision of the Food Service Director, the Cook is responsible for assisting the Head Cook with food preparation, serving and clean-up of the kitchen/lunchroom facilities. Essential Functions Food preparation, assist in preparation and cooking lunch. Additional preparation may include salad bar prep. Serve breakfast and lunch, complying with reimbursable meal standards and food portions. Performs various daily kitchen cleaning activities, sweeping, mopping and dishwashing. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director or Head Cook.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. Mostly clean and comfortable; noise; hazardous equipment; temperature extremes. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending. Frequent lifting up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting 21 up to 50 pounds. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High School graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of commercial food preparation and equipment beneficial. Within one year of employment; HACCP, Food Safety and ICS 100 certification Flexible and willing to cross train on all kitchen job duties. Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers. Must comply with Food Service policies, procedures, HAACP and mandated food safety standards.
